It sounds weird to get excited about a power strip, but believe you me, I have tried many of them. This one is ten times better than all those chintzy "power bars" that are always getting tugged around and filling up.First of all, there is generous room on each of the outlets for even the most massive wall wart. Never again do you have to play "plug Tetris" (you know, "if I put _this_ wart at the end, then I can squeeze _that_ one in between here...").Secondly, while it's not huge or heavy, the Powramid a compact solid unit that will stay where you put it. Conventional power strips are always getting tipped over and tugged around by the cords attached to it; this one sits firmly on its base, which helps keep things neat. Finally, the switch on top has a nice plastic cover, so you don't have to worry about bumping it. Or you can leave the cover off for easy access to the switch -- your choice. Either way, the switch has a satisfying click and clearly visible light. Also, of course, it's cool looking, and it's well made, and not super spendy. So we have a table in our kitchen that does not have a nearby electrical outlet. I was looking for something that looked nice (Not just a power strip or extension cord) that we could pull out from a corner wall if we were working at the table and needed electric. Ordered this and it is just what I wanted. We keep it off in a corner when not in use, but when needed, we pull the Powramid closer to the table and plug in. Looks nice, at least in my opinion. I agree with other reviewers that you should try to get the longer cable (In my case, this was 8') because you will probably need it, depending on where you are trying to get the extra electricity.I was drawn to this design for it's small footprint and short 3 ft power cord. That's all good but is not the whole story. A nightmare of effort is required to insert a plug ( all 6 outlets). To make matters worse a plug is even harder to remove. Maybe doing some repeated plugging and unplugging will reduce efforts. That's my plan as I do like it otherwise.Great idea. Bought it so that I can use on top of case for easy access. Only comment would be that the actual plug ins are the new safety ones that require a lot of pushing and a slight rocking motion. Very difficult to do as I have arthritis.I confess that I am not a handy person, but everyone knows how to plug in an appliance. This surge protector did not come with any directions although I did not think that was odd. Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but what I have found is that non-polarized plugs will not work in this power strip. They don't fit at all or fit so loosely that they fall back out. I bought two of these -- one to use with my computer, printer, scanner, modem, and a lamp. Most of these things do not have polarized plugs and would not fit in this power strip. If it only accepts polarized plugs, it would have been nice to have that listed as a feature of the product. Now I have $50 worth of these that I can't use, and by the time I realized that, it was too late to return them. Very disappointing. Oh, and it also did NOT come with the little plastic cover that fits over the toggle switch.Everyone that sees this asks "where did you find that?". Its a great power station for charging EVERYTHING. I took it up to Montana with me and only needed ONE plug to plug this in and everything else was charging on it......PERFECT. I left it there as a gift to the people we stayed with. I dont think I would have gotten out of there with it anyway, they loved it.Really high quality device. It stretches my living room. A number of my streaming devices only work with the wall outlet. The length of the cable now allows me to use both wall outlets. Everything else is plugged into this. My amazon tablet has a strong signal. I plan to buy several more. Would recommend highly.Very nice surge protector! The design keeps cords looking neater than the mess of a traditional power strip,, and everything fits regardless of the size of the plug. There is a clear removable plastic cover over the lighted top switch, so it won't accidentally be turned off or on.
